If you are upgrading People Tools ONLY then use “Change Assistant” to perform the upgrade.

Note: Change Assistant replaces PeopleSoft Upgrade Assistant to automate all upgrades beginning with PeopleTools release 8.46. Any upgrades performed to a release prior to release 8.46, and using the conventional upgrade in place method of performing an upgrade should continue to use PeopleSoft Upgrade Assistant to perform the upgrade.

Installing People Tools does not include Change Assistant. Oracle’s PeopleSoft Change Assistant is a standalone application.

How to install Change Assistant is provided in the Tools installation guide. If you have installed Tools version 8.49, you can find the details on Chapter 13 – “Installing PeopleSoft Change Assistant”

Tips:

  • Try to install the Change assistant in a new powerful box which has enough memory/CPU – [at least 3GB memory] or else you will get frustrated during upgrade process.

  • Make sure that box in which you installed CA and the DB where the source and target boxes are all in the same network, else you might have network load delays.

  • ALWAYS CHECK THE LOG BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NEXT STEP, even if there are no ERRORS on the screen.
  • Enter code here
