I have multiple sites on a single webserver for HR and PORTAL applications.

can I setup nodes for each site in HR (assumimg I have 5 sites) to connect to respective site in Portal?

It should be possible as long as you provide different names for each node in each site and make sure to create them as "External"

First try creating one node node for one site. Also don't forget to provide the details of PORTAL in the portal tab of the nodes.
