Can someone please help on this?

I have an image file. (eg: image.png)

I opened it with text editor. Some text data appeared which was not readable.

Now I want to store the data, (the text format) in the database field.

After that on the request bases I want it to be sent to Java systems where that system will display the image.

1) Is this possible?
2) Am I trying the wrong way?
3) If yes, for 2nd question, what according to you is better method. Please suggest.

There is no way one can store image file in text format. Not in PeopleSoft and not in any other application. Text is ASCI format and image is in BINARY format.

You can store text in BINARY but not the other way.
