According to the recent email from Oracle and the information on the PeopleSoft customer connect website, the existing “customer connect” is going to be replaced by the MetaLink3 scheduled during November 7-9, 2008.
Oracle is going to use Siebel CRM 8.0 for their Customer Support Management (CRM) System. This is indirectly saying that the Siebel CRM is better than PeopleSoft CRM and Oracle Apps CRM . That is ok as they have to select one from the existing CRM tools. PeopleSoft CRM has chat service. Does the Siebel CRM have chat service? If it has or not, one thing is for sure that they have not mentioned anything about it anywhere in providing it to “PeopleSoft Customers”. Once you login, the logo says, “My Oracle Support” and “Formerly MetaLink” and then why name url as https://metalink3.oracle.com? Are they going to change the url later? Oracle Corp. released the latest PeopleSoft Component Global Price List last month. The list is elaborate and covers almost all components. This will be useful for the Project Managers who budget PeopleSoft investments and also analysts who prepare ROI on PeopleSoft implementations.
This is also very useful for the consulting companies who prepare the project plan and estimates for their clients. I had prepared ROI on PeopleSoft implementations for the new installations and also individual modules in the past. The document like this is very useful for such tasks. I recently came across a online training company VTC.
Details about VTC: The Virtual Training Company (VTC) started in California's Silicon Valley in 1996. VTC grew quickly over the next three years and relocated first in 1999 to the beautiful town of Winchester, Virginia. In 2005, the company migrated to Stephens City, Virginia. The company was founded by British born Mark Vernon who started producing CD-based training for Apple software. The format on the CDs - narrated QuickTime movies that take a user through the steps of learning complex software applications - was very well received. Soon after, VTC began producing training for Windows software. Comments (2) | Add as favourites (0) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 3015 | Print | Read more... |
