Tools for PeopleSoft Testing 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Hello:

I am new to PeopleSoft as QA. I worked in customer support earlier and now I have moved to testing dept. In fact, I am the first member of the testing team.

What tools should I get trained? I did some search and found some tools like SILK, WinRunner etc.

I am not sure which one should I use and what is the widely used tool for PeopleSoft?

There are many tools in the market. You can choose depending on your budget and requirement.

Mercury Qualify Center – it has many tools including Load Runner for load test and win runner and Astra QuickTest

If you have enough budget, you can go for IBM’s TMP Test Suite.

If you want to go for Open source tools, try JMeter by apache.

Some where I read about BADBOY and it is suppose to be free for 5 users.

I suggest download the open source tools first and try them on your sandbox and learn a bit of scripting. You would be able to decide on which would be best for your shop.

I downloaded Apache JMeter and installed it. It took me a while to understand and start using it for testing purpose.

Anyone already using it? Anyone had any issues with it especially for PeopleSoft?
