I use this script to monitor failed/struck processes in backend using cron. This script will check the DB every 30 minutes and email you the list if any process failed in the last 30 minutes or struck for more than a specific time. If you are running HRMS Pay roll processes, check the process timings before you call any process as struck. You can add one more if condition to the long running processes. You can choose the frequency and the process run time according to your wish and requirement. Another way to get alerts is that, enter your email id in each process or job to notify you when it fails with “NO SUCCESS” or “ERROR” but it is a heck of a job if you are having ton of processes running in your system and also if you want to disable it, you can just stop the cron. Also NOTE: PeopleSoft won’t alert you if your process is struck!!! I would not recommend you to use it for development or QA as people(developers/QA) tend to run failed processes while they fix. This is for Oracle/Unix. You can tweak for MSSQL or anyother RDBMS on Dos. Here is the file: Process Monitor Add as favourites (14) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 2594 | Print
