| Job Description | PeopleSoft DBA administers the day-to-day PeopleSoft (PS) systems database in the Oracle 10g RAC in Unix O/S. The PeopleSoft DBA responsibilities include administration for all PS development & production environments databases, creating new and refreshing non-production environments databases, performance tuning, troubleshooting, on-going maintenance and application of patches and upgrades. The PeopleSoft DBA day-to-day activities will include: 1. Install, configure and provides technical support for Oracle 10g database in RAC as well as non-RAC on Unix(IBM-AIX). 2. Replicate/recover/refresh various PeopleSoft environments with desired backup of Oracle 10g database. 3. Provides technical support and assists other PS resources to troubleshoot and resolve production/development support issues for the Database servers. 4. Maintains and monitors PS Databases in Oracle 10g. 5. Implements various measures to monitors, fine-tune, optimize and administer the databases that makes up the PS environment. 6. Create, execute backup/restore strategy and scripts for databases in Unix environment. 7. Support and implement database scaling methodologies. 8. Design and implement database security model. 8. Assist PS developers in fine-tuning of batch jobs. 9. Participates in infrastructure planning, database design, data mapping and conversion activities that meet functional and operational requirements as well as IT standards. Communicates appropriately and effectively in verbal and written form with business clients and colleagues. Participates in Team meetings and performs normal administrative duties such as status reporting. Provide technical knowledge to the IT department and the PS project team |
| Qualifications | Skills / Requirements
3-5 years of experience in Oracle 10g installations, administration, design and development. 3-5 years experience working experience with GPFS, Oracle Clusterware. Experience in troubleshooting database problems. Strong knowledge of performance tuning, physical sizing. Experience with creating Application Support documentation. Strong knowledge of Oracle High Availability solutions: Oracle 10g DataGuard and RAC. Design, implement and maintain Oracle high availability solutions. Experience in PL/SQL, SQLLoader, data export/import. Excellent understanding of, and experience with, a systems development lifecycle methodology. Experience in supporting the PeopleSoft HRMS application on Oracle will be a plus. |
